Adams Redline Hybrid-Iron Set Review

When Adams first introduced their Redline Series of Irons critics found them to be a bit gimmicky looking. But there are critics for everything and these were probably the people who hadn’t tested the irons out yet. A few notes first about the Redline Irons Set is it’s a combo set of long hitting irons and hybrids. Designed with distance as the primary goal, golfers can design the set to suit their skills choosing from various hybrids and irons. Definitely a game improving set made with the intention to hit the ball longer. This 8 club set comes with Adams winning hybrids added for no extra charge.

In testing they hit great and definitely have the ability to be bit long if you hit them well. Forgiveness was definitely a big factor with these clubs. You get great results if you hit them in the center of even those off-center hits still go straight. Not too far off center but enough to call them a forgiving iron. The distance is still there though which I found to be extremely impressive. Overall good distance gains and a great set of clubs if you want the ability to customize your order with irons and hybrids for an extremely reasonable price.

Adams Pro A12 Hybrids Review

Adams Golf is already world renowned for their hybrids but they just got even better with the roll out of their Idea Pro a12 hybrids and forged iron sets. Designed specifically for the skilled player looking for Tour performance golf clubs. Creating them to be up to par with Tour standards meant creating better launch conditions, enhanced playability and they topped that off in a stealth black finish to reduce glare.

The pro a12 hybrids were designed with a more compact clubhead to help for better shot making. A thin steel face allows for better ball speeds and height. Weight has been placed in the sole to help reduce turf interaction. With your choice of 5 different lofts you can easily integrate the hybrids into your bag wherever you need them.

How did all these new design elements help with the overall performance? We enjoyed the touch of a black finish to help with glaring effects of the clubhead. The overall playability of the club was definitely up to par with the Adams name. Great for distance gains and had incredible accuracy from what we found. Starting at $199.99 an extremely reasonable price for Adams Hyrbids you can buy yours at GolfClubs.com today.

Adams Golf V3 Hybrid-Iron Set Review

Adams Golf created their set of V3 Hybrid-Irons to “Play as good as they look” according to Michael Vrska director of product development over at Adams golf. The new idea Tech V3 hybrids and irons bring together a black PVD finish and easy performance for mid-range handicappers. This 8 piece set encompasses everything from from 4,5,6, hybrids to the 7 mid hybrid. The irons feature four oversized cavity-back irons 8-gap wedge. What’s unique about the set is the weight placement on the heads. The hybrids have precisely placed tugsten weighting on the steel heads enhances the forgiveness of the clubs and reduces turf drag. The forged irons have heel toe weighting for improvements in feel across the face. With some of the latest technology from the Adams Golf labs this is one set we were extremely excite about.

The set not only excels in it’s appearance but also it’s easy to hit not leaving any gapping issues the clubs work very well together. Performing just as good as it looks was not just a promise it was the truth. A great set for those player looking to integrate hybrids into their iron set Adams is still the leader in their hybrid technology.

Cleveland Mashie Hybrid Review

Cleveland MashieCleveland’s Mashie Hybrid is one blast from the past, think of these days these were still called utility clubs. Let’s start off with it’s looks, this retro cool club is as versatile as it’s shape looks. Not your typical hybrid looking club complete with Cleveland’s “Retro-Raw” finish which gives it that greyish look. The two rails on the side make it really stand out as far as first looks go.

Down to it’s workability. The Mashie is a joy to swing, lightweight and makes great contact. The versatility on this club was something we were hoping for but not expecting how great it was. Easy to hit from the fairway or medium rough it was able to get the ball out and fast. Finished off with a stock Miyazaki C. Kua 59 gram shaft, delivers that lightweight feeling you certainly aren’t going to find in other hybrids.

Definitely a contender to be the #1 hybrid on the market. Love or hate the headcover it’s definitely a head turner in the bag. You can find this golf clubs for around $150 at online stores.

Tour Edge XCG-4 Hybrids Review

The Tour Edge XCG-4 Hybrids were crafted with new engineering  techniques and a revamped design. The Hybrids have increased performance in mind. Designed to deliver a margining steel cup face and crown for unequaled power. Exotics engineers chose maraging steel over stainless steel because of it’s superior strength and ability to produce less spin and faster ball speeds. High launch and accurate launch is a result of deeper center of gravity.

For even more energy transfer at impact, twi internal weight pads improve sound, feel and the center of gravity location. The results are a low spin rate and perfect launch angle that gets shots up quick and lands them softly next to the pin. Currently priced at $199.99 at GolfClubs.com (very well prices for this type of innovative technology and performance).

In testing this club really blew the competition away. The power and accuracy this hybrid gave was something we weren’t expecting. We couldn’t tell that much difference between the steel materials used on the face but i’m sure it helps.

Game Improving Hybrid-Callaway FT-iZ Hybrid

Callaway-ft-iz-hybridCallaway not a stranger to cutting edge technology this time they incorporated advanced ‘Fusion’ technology into their FT-iZ Hybrid. The multi-fusion technology was placed in the stainless steel body and sole. They combined multi material construction with high-density weights to maximize the perimeter weighting. This created the most advanced hybrid they have ever created.  Callaway’s engineering goal of the FT-iZ was to create a club that would deliver the trajectory and performance better players were demanding. What they ended up with was a club that offered maximum performance and maximum stability in the longest and most accurate club they have ever made.

As far as performance goes there was an increased feel and accuracy with high, powerful trajectories that flew far and landed soft. The clubhead was larger than most hybrids, which makes this an excellent club for the mid to higher handicap players.

Cobra Baffler Rail Hybrid Review

Cobra_Baffler Rail Hybrid The Cobra Baffler Rail is the latest club in the already popular Baffler Hybrid series. The Rail incorporates a thin steel face insert that has been designed to increase ball speeds on impact. Distance can a also be added to your game by the stronger lofts they manufactured. The thinner face created a redistributed weight for improved launch conditions. The sole design was a great upgrade from its predecessor.

The best feature on this hybrid is it’s solid design. It works great for shots in semi-rough and bad lies. With a reputation as an easy-to-hit club, our testers will add to that description and agree. The performance of the Baffler continues the popularity of this series. It was excellent for short shots and you didn’t sacrifice accuracy or distance when switching to this club. Overall this is an extremely versatile hybrid that golfers don’t have to think twice about before adding to their golf bag arsenal.

Adams Idea Black Super Hybrid

Adams has always been on the cutting edge of technology for hybrid golf clubs and they have had many victories, with #1 selling clubs every year. The Black Super Hybrid was designed to be a bigger and more powerful club than any other hybrid on the market. It’s built for players who are looking for a high performance hybrid that is going to give them maximum distance as well as accuracy and forgiveness.

This was an easy club to play with, where it really shined was in forgiveness, shanked shots were easily corrected. Overall, Adams has created another great hybrid to add to their long line of incredible clubs. We thought this club was especially made as an overall performance changer, helping a golfer in not only distance but accuracy and forgiveness as well.

Buyers Guide To Hybrid Golf Clubs

Golf hybrids were developed out of a need for a cross between a wood and an iron. Sometimes referred to as utility clubs, hybrids are a recent addition to the array of golf equipment. The overall design of a hybrid club was made  so a golfer can hit the ball easier. They combine the advantages of an iron with the forgiving nature of a wood. As mentioned they were designed as a mixture between clubs and thus they generally replace long irons 2,3,4 and sometimes 5. They are primarily used to hit the ball for long distances with an accurate shot. Generally known to outperform the wood in distance and the iron in accuracy. The reason this has been made possible is that manufacturers have shifted the center of gravity for the golf club to the bottom, which allows you to launch the ball with ease and control the direction. The club head is similar to a fairway wood, hollow and made from steel or titanium. The face is flatter and the shafts are shorter compared to the irons and woods. Overall these clubs were designed with a game improving mindset to allow golfers to hit the ball with distance an accuracy, not to mention easily. They are a great investment if you want to add these characteristics to your arsenal.
