Ping G20 Driver Review

The frontrunners to Pings new G20 collection is their driver. Part of a long line of game improving drivers their latest addition follows suit. The technology used in the G20 driver builds on the technology developed to enhance a golfers ability to hit it farther and straighter than it’s predecessor. Also a slightly wider face at address than the former G20 driver but not to the extent of the K15.

This driver is awesome, it has a very hot face, and much more . What was a surprise was the launch angle, definitely has a higher launch than what most drivers have on the market today. We really enjoyed all the new technology enhancements the G20 driver had to offer, it’s definitely worth checking out if you have the chance. A Tour version is also available which is designed for better golfers with higher speeds that will produce lower trajectories.

Adams Redline Hybrid-Iron Set Review

When Adams first introduced their Redline Series of Irons critics found them to be a bit gimmicky looking. But there are critics for everything and these were probably the people who hadn’t tested the irons out yet. A few notes first about the Redline Irons Set is it’s a combo set of long hitting irons and hybrids. Designed with distance as the primary goal, golfers can design the set to suit their skills choosing from various hybrids and irons. Definitely a game improving set made with the intention to hit the ball longer. This 8 club set comes with Adams winning hybrids added for no extra charge.

In testing they hit great and definitely have the ability to be bit long if you hit them well. Forgiveness was definitely a big factor with these clubs. You get great results if you hit them in the center of even those off-center hits still go straight. Not too far off center but enough to call them a forgiving iron. The distance is still there though which I found to be extremely impressive. Overall good distance gains and a great set of clubs if you want the ability to customize your order with irons and hybrids for an extremely reasonable price.

Callaway Tour i(S) Golf Ball Review

Part of their 2011 line up Callaway introduced the Callaway Tour i(S) golf ball along with the Tour iZ, Diablo HT. What sets the i(S) apart from other golf balls is the technology, Callaway uniquely designed this golf ball to perform better. A HEX dimple design to reduce drag. A dual core improves both distance and control. A urethane cover is what gives the ball that softer feel and better spin.

They had great response and spin. Overall we would rate these as a solid performer. Definitely a soft feel at impact but your still able to get that good distance off the tee. Works great around the greens doesn’t scuff up too much. Comes off the putter face quickly. It’s most similar to the ProV1 with a bit less spin off the driver and long irons but still very responsive around the greens.

Limited Edition Callaway Golf Clubs 2011

While some golf clubs went all white this season Callaway took the opposite approach. With the launch of their limited edition golf clubs they went for a look of their own.

Why did Callaway go all black instead of all white? The black finish gives golfers the same non-glare that the white clubs do but with a more durable finish that won’t show dings and scratches.

First their driver went all black. Callaway produced 5,000 limited editions of their Diablo Octane Tour Driver donned in an all black finish. Expect it to perform just like their regular Diablo Octane Driver, made with Callaway’s innovative Forged Composite lightweight carbon material. The Tour model is of course for those skilled golfers out there. The difference between the Tour model and the regular driver is it’s slightly smaller head and a design specifically created to deliver increased workability with low, penetrating trajectories.

What makes this Limited Edition driver special? Aside from the obvious all black club head; the driver also comes with a black 45 ½ inch Project X 7C7 graphite shaft and a black and white Golf Pride new decade grip.

Callaway also revealed a redesign of one of their Odyssey putters. The Odyssey PT 10 is the all black special edition all black follow up to their PT 82, which was released last October. You may recognize the PT 10 putter because it is the same design that Ernie Els used to win the South African Open back in 2010. Expected to only release 2,000 to golf retail stores. This limited edition putter was milled from 1025 carbon steel with heel toe weighting and a classic blade style. This putter is also designed for Tour advanced players.

Callaway also announced that they will be turning their popular aid assisting putter into a black model as well. Odysseys White Ice D.A.R.T Tour Black putter still has all the technical advances but now with a dark nickel finish instead of the chrome. The darker finish is supposed to create that contrast and enhance your aim.

Online Golf Shopping: Tips List

We all understand the woes of online shopping that’s what blogs like try to do. Finding you the best equipment at the best prices from the best places with reviews of the equipment. We have helped you learn how to choose the right driver, wedge, putter, shoes, etc but what about when it comes down to actually purchasing the club? Here are a few tips to keep in mind.

  • Looks for a secure checkout
  • Search out customer reviews of both the product and the online store
  • Compare the prices
  • Authorized dealer of the equipment (golf manufactures sometimes take a while to update their lists online so take them with a grain of salt)
  • If the deal looks too good to be true it probably is- most prices of golf clubs are regulated by the manufacturers and can’t be sold under a certain amount if their advertising waaaay lower it’s probably a fake.
  • Check out the privacy policy (keep your data safe) and the return policy (one thing we like about GolfClubs.com is they have a 30 day playability guarantee)
  • Look for discount code online (they all have them floating around)
  • Best thing about shopping online you can always find the club in stock somewhere!
  • Good Luck

Taylormade Burner 2.0 TP Fairway Wood Review

Featuring that same Superfast technology as the TaylorMade Burner Superfast driver, which means it’s got a lighter longer shaft, lighter grip and a larger more forgiving clubhead. A light club leads to what they describe as game changing technology. With a lower and deeper center of gravity it gives players more power and a high launch angle for more carry distance. With their unique non-glare white clubhead and black face it’s the perfect visual alignment aid.

Our review is that they give a nice swing, really easy with a good tempo. The SuperFast Burner 2.0 TP Fairway Wood is a solid club, great weighting and the back swing feels effortless. It has a great look at address and it’s playing ability is definitely up to par with TaylorMade status. We would recommend this obviously to the more skilled or advanced players and we can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Adams Pro A12 Hybrids Review

Adams Golf is already world renowned for their hybrids but they just got even better with the roll out of their Idea Pro a12 hybrids and forged iron sets. Designed specifically for the skilled player looking for Tour performance golf clubs. Creating them to be up to par with Tour standards meant creating better launch conditions, enhanced playability and they topped that off in a stealth black finish to reduce glare.

The pro a12 hybrids were designed with a more compact clubhead to help for better shot making. A thin steel face allows for better ball speeds and height. Weight has been placed in the sole to help reduce turf interaction. With your choice of 5 different lofts you can easily integrate the hybrids into your bag wherever you need them.

How did all these new design elements help with the overall performance? We enjoyed the touch of a black finish to help with glaring effects of the clubhead. The overall playability of the club was definitely up to par with the Adams name. Great for distance gains and had incredible accuracy from what we found. Starting at $199.99 an extremely reasonable price for Adams Hyrbids you can buy yours at GolfClubs.com today.

Callaway’s New Wedge X Series Jaws CC

The wedge is commonly refereed to as the players club. If you need a great comprehensive guide to wedges along with clarification for the new wedge rules check out the link. Since the USGA started regulating wedge grooves golf manufacturers have had to reassess and redesign their wedges so that they conform to new rules. Essentially all they have to do is create their wedges with straight and parallel grooves instead of sharp edges.

Callaway’s unique idea to up the game of their wedges was to add the new grooves but add a ton of them. With 21 grooves about 40% more than their earlier model give this clubhead more spin and a better advantage on the course as a conforming wedge. The X Series Jaws CC is a forged process made from 1020 carbon steel for a better feeling short game club. It will be interesting to see other manufactures solutions but over here we sure like the spin that Callaway’s new wedges give us.
