Callaway Diablo HX Golf Ball Review

Callaway’s newest golf ball has all the best of Callaway technology. From their award winning series collection, the Diablo name rests on these golf balls. Constructed with Callaway’s own Hex aerodynamic technology that reduces drag and allows for better ball flight.

The Callaway HX Diablo Golf Ball is 2 piece construction golf ball geared towards a player who wants better performance from tee-to-green. What’s different from this ball than previous Callaway models? The core has a softer center which allows the ball to gain more distance and less spin off the driver and more when used with the shorter irons for better greenside control. The cover was designed as a performance-enhancing system to help player with their short game without comprising spin on drives.

After testing a set of these golf balls out we couldn’t help but conclude that we agree with Callaway. Drives off the tee were getting great distance without serious spin but on short game shots there was still a bit of spin to get the ball right where it needed to be. We would recommend this ball for the golfer who is looking for help with distance and accuracy mainly off the tee.

Callaway’s New Wedge X Series Jaws CC

The wedge is commonly refereed to as the players club. If you need a great comprehensive guide to wedges along with clarification for the new wedge rules check out the link. Since the USGA started regulating wedge grooves golf manufacturers have had to reassess and redesign their wedges so that they conform to new rules. Essentially all they have to do is create their wedges with straight and parallel grooves instead of sharp edges.

Callaway’s unique idea to up the game of their wedges was to add the new grooves but add a ton of them. With 21 grooves about 40% more than their earlier model give this clubhead more spin and a better advantage on the course as a conforming wedge. The X Series Jaws CC is a forged process made from 1020 carbon steel for a better feeling short game club. It will be interesting to see other manufactures solutions but over here we sure like the spin that Callaway’s new wedges give us.

Callaway Tour i(z) Golf Ball Review

Callaway Tour i(z) This dual core construction golf ball was created to make a difference between driver spins (low) and wedge spin (high). The firm compression of this ball is great for players who have a fast swing speed. It was designed for tour players but can also have the soft feel average golfers want. In testing we agreed with this assessment as long as you have a fast swing speed this ball will definitely improve your game.
